Blemishes can be a sign of internal imbalances, accumulated toxins as well as an excess of Pitta dosha. By supporting the body in detoxifying, cooling and balancing the doshas, it aims to clear your complexion from within and reveal healthy, radiant skin.

Dietary Recommendations:

A diet that focuses on easy to digest foods, that are rich in nutrients and support the release of toxins and heat from the body. Freshly prepared fruits, cooked vegetables and whole grains, lean proteins, green leafy vegetables, with an emphasis on cooked beets, zucchini, squash and bitter greens to cleanse the liver. Including turmeric, coriander, lime, and fresh cilantro in cooking will support cleansing the lymphatic and circulatory channels to help release toxins. Include good quality olive oils and ghee daily to keep the body unctuous. Drinking plenty of warm water, water with lemon or lime, and CCF tea (Cumin, Coriander, and Fennel) throughout the day will support detoxification.

Ayurvedic Care:

In addition to following a detoxifying diet, prioritizing 7-8 hours of sleep a night will support the body in restoring its tissues and releasing heat and toxins, as well as meditation and types of pranayama like Sheetali breath. Daily Abhyanga, self massage with oil, will further break up toxins and encourage lymphatic drainage, as well as help pacify the mind and nourish the skin.

Use Lukewarm Water:

When cleansing your face, use lukewarm water instead of hot water. Hot water can strip the skin of its natural oils, leading to dryness and irritation.

Light and lovely

This is quite a different texture from my other UMA products but very pleasant. It builds into a light foam and cleanses very well (even waterproof mascara!) and no tightness after. I have slightly enlarged pores and have been using this along with their exfoliant and am definitely seeing a difference within a week of use!

A double cleansing extraordinaire

Being a fan of double-cleansing ritual this gel cleanser is a must-have! With UMA's Oil cleanser, this duo has improved my daily routine. While it is only slightly foamy, it melts any residue of Grims and makeup right off. This is definitely a placeholder in my skincare.
